Mark and Matt called me a few months back from a referral, and told me about their “Friendsgiving” event where they planned to also make it into a reception to celebrate their marriage.. I was like.. THESE ARE MY PEOPLE!!!!! How fun is that? Mark and Matt have been together for 8 amazing years & engaged for 5 and NOW was the time to do it up big! We started at their hotel, The Magnolia, downtown where they sipped on wine and helped each other prepare for this day. We ran around downtown for a short while enjoying how amazing November in the midwest felt.. and the leaves….. oooooh, the leaves. Am I right, Mark? And then we checked out Cherokee street and laughed and laughed. My favorite thing about this couple is how Matt would make the sweetest, cutest faces at Mark and Mark would just BEAM and smile and smile. Mark was giddy the whole day though, and I just fell in love with them as a couple!
Honestly, November has never been so pretty and the men never so happy. It was a complete honor to document your amazing wedding in front of your loved ones.
I had to steal some words from Matt that he recently shared on his FB page with a picture of Matt & Mark, it says;
“To paraphrase my vows, I wish I could go back in time and tell my scared younger self that everything will turn out ok. But now it’s for us to make sure anyone who is younger knows that they don’t have to be scared. There are people who will accept you for who you are. And eventually there will be someone who loves you for who you are.
Love always wins. No matter your sex, your gender, your sexuality, love will always win.
And on November 10, 2017, my love won.”
